Canoeing and Rafting in Ukraine

Most of regional Carpathian mountain rivers are well mastered by tourists: the Chornyi Cheremosh, Cheremosh, Bilyi Cheremoch, Prut, Stryi, Tysa rivers and rivers of its basin in Transcarpathian region - Rika, Latorytsia. Of recent times the routes along such small rivers as tributaries of the Cheremosh River (Probiina, Bystrets), tributaries of the Stryi River, the Upper Prut have been navigated. This has became possible due to the comparatively new type of boats available. The Carpathian rivers can be navigated by kayaks, canoes, catamarans, and rafts.

The best time for boating is the end of April during the floods when snow melting is the most intensive.

Rafting by the Cheremosh and Tysa rivers is possible during the warm months - from April till October. From May till September one can go through the Dniestr canyons by rafts.

Depending on the season and boat type the routes along the Carpathian rivers are classified from 3 - 5 in level of complexity. The Carpathian rivers are a beautiful place for inter-seasonal preparation for the difficult trips abroad.

Routes along the Carpathian rivers are recommended for different tourist groups. Here it's possible to undertake trips of different levels of complexity - from the 1st level to the 4th including.
